Fishtail Headband

$5.00

This pattern makes a cable knit headband.

Description:  Everyone that makes this or wears this loves it! The magic is in both the yarn and the pattern for a soft snuggled fit. Yolanda is a person I met at the Bethesda Farm Women’s Market. The design is uniquely Yolanda’s, but inspired from the teaching and sharing community of women knitters in her hometown in South America. She hand knit dozens of these our of my Alchemy yarn, and her daughter helped in writing the pattern!

We show of the “Fishtail” texture with one of our solids, but it could be done in a variegated too. The softness of the silk and alpaca are a must for an item that touches facial skin. It is knit with two strands to give it that amazing weather heartiness and warmth.

About the designer:  Yolanda Eulogia of Inca Trail Knits is a mother and knitter.  Her design name is in honor of her home country and to her heritage.  She speaks (in English and Spanish) of learning to knit in a community of women from early child hood.  She is a warm and lovely person.  We met at the Farm Women’s Market in Bethesda MD.

Skill Level:

The level of experience for this pattern is rated as “easy”.  The pattern has a lot of repeating elements, so that once you’re established, you can zoom.  It is encouraged to knit with two strands.
