Description: This pattern makes very soft and cozy all alpaca mittens, it is designed to be made from the Tradesman yarn in sport weight. The color-work is a recreation of the very famous Senator Bernie Sanders mittens, worn at the 2021 Biden/Harris Inauguration. The photo of Senator Sanders in his tad bit oversized really warm looking brown mittens went absolutely viral. The original mittens were hand made from a sweater that had been felted and then cut & sewn like fabric. This pattern adapts the visual from those mittens into a crochet design.

Skill Level: Intermediate. The difficulty is not from the kind of stitches, mainly chain. Rather from the concept that this is a color-work project, and you will need to be able to change colors and carry colors. Some shaping is also required in increases and decreases.
