Poet’s Beret & Gauntlets

$5.00

This pattern makes a cable knit headband.

Description:  This is a value-added two in one pattern.  It’s a lovely beret pattern that looks great in active variegated colorways or more low contrast choices.   Along with the hat is a matching gauntlet. A gauntlet is the garment name for fingerless mitts with a defined thumb. Wear them together as a set or separately.

About the Designer:  The designer of this pattern is, Linda Minnick, of Mid Valley Fibers. Linda has been knitting and creating in yarn and textiles all her life. She lives on a small farm, and her family has a long history of traditional jousting – the official sport of Maryland. Linda teaches knitting, and designs wonderful patterns!

Skill Level:  The skill on this pattern is easy.   The challenge in the patterns comes from a lacy cable stitch, you will also need to be familiar with using double points.

Materials & details:

To make both projects, 2 skeins of Merlin yarn are needed. Merlin is 250 yards each skein of worsted weight, wool & mohair, hand-dyed yarn.  You could choose two of the same colorway or use an accent color for cuffs and ribbing.
