Description: This is a pattern that Linda Minnick of Mid Valley Fibers wrote for our Merlin yarn. I think she would admit today that my fashion sense is a bit linked to some other period in history connected to our Arthurian theme. The pattern is worked in the round with graceful little eyelets that follow the spiral shape and play upon the wandering colors from the handdyed yarns. Merlin yarn is a light worsted weight, 250 yards in a 4 ounce skein, made with wool and mohair. Its an enjoyable knit, and a timeless hat.
About the Designer: Linda, the designer, has been knitting and creating in yarn and textiles all her life. She lives on a small farm, and her family has a long history of traditional jousting – the official sport of Maryland. Linda teaches knitting, and designs wonderful patterns!
Skill Level: The level of experience for this pattern is rated as “easy”. Its worked in the round, great opportunity for magic loop, lots of quick knit areas, will need to be able to use double points and making a tassel at the end.
