Description: This is a fun hat to make for knitters that envy the cool things crocheters can do. The fun apple knobs are also little trees. They create a full and stretchy hat that could hold lots of long hair either down as shown in the picture or tucked inside the back of the hat. Furthermore, it is easy to adjust the size for a greater slouch style hat. Do this after you learn the stitch, by adding further rib and/or another section/row of apple trees.
About the Designer: Yolanda Eulogia of Inca Trail Knits is a mother and knitter. Her design name is in honor of her home country and to her heritage. She speaks (in English and Spanish) of learning to knit in a community of women from early child hood. She is a warm and lovely person. We met at the Farm Women’s Market in Bethesda MD.
Skill Level: The skill on this pattern is easy. The challenge in the patterns comes from a lacy cable stitch, you will also need to be familiar with using double points.
