“Feel the Burn” Crochet Mittens

Wow! Yarn projects are in the news! Who could resist making up a pair of the viral meme mittens from the Senator Bernie Sanders pic at the 2021 Biden/Harris Inauguration.

Bernie’s actual mitten’s became an overnight sensation. The original creator of the mittens was interview and made famous herself. Patterns to sew and knit these mittens are all over. However, there really are not options for folks that crochet. Well, we’ve got the answer: “Feel the Burn Crochet Mittens” Designed by Kathleen Lopez of Craicpot Woolworks, with notes and published by Karen Schlossberg of Avalon Springs Farm, and made out of Tradesman yarn (all alpaca, sport weight, 4 ounce skeins).

You will love these mittens! Its a great project that you can make and use right now in the coldest part of winter. We’re in a big snow storm today! It is an intermediate level of difficulty pattern – You will need to be able to work with several colors, and carry them, do increases and decreases. Otherwise, it is “pretty straight forward” as Kathleen says. Karen and Kathleen both love the feeling of the all alpaca Tradesman yarn. It is a very insulating fiber, incredibly soft and cozy on your hands, and really a comfortable mitten.

Check out the pattern for download today, and pick up all the colors you’ll need to have some mitten making fun. Supplies will make several pair, so it’s a great value.
