Description:
This is such a fun yarn because it is soft, silky and has a lot of drape as you would expect a silk to be. However, it is also squishy and a bit bouncy if you squeeze the skein from both the merino content and the single ply loft. Knit with it like silk, but enjoy a little of both worlds in one yarn, and of course, it’s really nice next to skin. It is a very airy yarn, much like a handspun, but it is commercially produced – again a fun feature. It’s very consistent, and nicely balanced for a single. It is hand dyed at the studio by Karen.
Glass Isle Yarn:
Two ingredients, cultivated silk and merino. Silk tends to have a long smooth staple length and character; Merino is the opposite in that it is crimpy, but both fibers are famous for their fineness and softness. A large surface area due to both the single ply and the aran weight allow for lots of visual color expression of Karen’s fiber art and dye work. We hope you enjoy!
