In-Person Options

Driving Here:

GPS generally gets folks here with no trouble.  We are located about half way between the towns of Damascus MD (to the west) and Mount Airy, MD (to the east).  However, some GPS systems end at the driveway, if so read below….

View from the road:

Our Shop is located at our residence and on our farm.  You will see a grey and white house and a grey and white barn.  When you turn in at the mailboxes from Rt. 27/Ridge Road, you may notice we are a shared driveway, 3 mailboxes, a red brick ranch house out front to the left, and a second driveway turning off towards the woods to the right.  Head straight back for Avalon Springs Farm.

Contactless Pick-Up:

At the top of the driveway, there is a very large old maple tree with a picnic table and chairs underneath.  We have set up a small table for putting out orders.  If you choose this option, please text 15 minutes or so before you arrive and your order will be waiting for you out-side.  (Some limitations on inclement weather apply.)  Please make a date and time frame via email or text.

Curb-side Pick-Up:

We are happy to bring your order to the car.  Simply text or call when you arrive, or a few minutes before you arrive, and we will bring your order to the car.  Please make a date and time frame via email or text.

OPEN SHOP monthly on Saturday’s:

We are open from 11 am till 4 pm on a Saturday every month with the Fiber Art Studio Tour.  Check the calendar for current dates in the upcoming month.

OPEN SHOP by appointment:

We are almost always open by appointment.  We have a large variety of potential appointment times.  Including:  Weekdays, generally from 11 am till 4 pm; as needed an evening appointment; or most weekends, again generally 11 am till 4 pm.

Concierge Video Shopping  – We also offer by video shopping experience with Karen.  Typically we use Zoom or Facetime for the video connection.  A half hour appointment is free.  We will get things off the shelf, help clients coordinate, match, even discuss patterns, as well as give full details about all our products to help you make informed decisions virtually.  Use the contact form to sign up below.

Closed Shop:

We are a working farm and residence, so we are not just generally open to the public.  This is when we are tending to the animals or making the product.  Also, we have guard dogs, so we very much appreciate a notice, and we can put the dogs in a safe place.  The other times the yarn shop is definitely closed is when we are out-of-town fiber events (the animals are here, but not the yarn – smile!). Please avoid these times for appointment requests, please see calendar.
