In this name, Chivalry, the answer is 2 things!
Chivalry is the name of a pattern designed by Corrine Stephens Walcher. She is Gingy on Ravelry and Gingyknits on Instagram. I love this pattern! Everyone needs a few shell style tops in their wardrobe. This one is perfect for summer and completely soft enough to touch skin, but also could be worn with something underneath in cooler temperatures. The design is a combination of solid areas with light lace work below the bust line. Dress up or casual, it’s perfect. The pattern its self is really easy to read and understand. I really like her work! https://www.ravelry.com/people/Gingy
A little bit about Chivalry the yarn, since I produce that part…
This is a 100% Silk Noil yarn with 475 yards in 4 ounces which is a fingering weight. The silk noil has much of the character that you’re expecting wtih silk, a nice luster (hard to translate in a photo), strong yet absolutely lovely next to the skin and has a luxury sensibility to it. However, it is different. Since noil is the part of the silk production process that is curly and removed from commercial spinning, many folks are not familiar with it. Silk noil yarn has a little bounce and squish factor while still retaining a nice drape.
This piece, Chivalry Top, was created with a colorway, Mountains Majesty, that was not a complete solid or semi solid, for the freedom to chose colorways with some activity in them. It would still be beautiful in a solid, semi-solid or speckled yarn. We chose high risk to demonstrate it can be done. We have a few colors listed in our on-line store, if you do not see something, please feel free to use the Contact Us button. We also have a good selection at our retail space in Mount Airy, MD – 305 South Main Street, Mount Airy MD 21771 Open: Thursday, Friday, Saturday from 10 am – 6 pm. And, a little bit more of this yarn in on sale in our facebook group:
